A malachite ring built around one good stone: a single cabochon of natural malachite, banded in light and dark green, set by hand into solid 925 sterling silver by a silversmith in Tbilisi. Malachite is a copper carbonate — the mineral that gives old bronze its green — and its banding is a record of how the stone grew, so no two cabochons repeat.

A sterling silver malachite ring, not a plated one

The band is solid sterling silver, hallmarked 925, not silver-plated brass. That matters more on a ring than on any other piece: a plated band wears through at the back within a year of daily use, while sterling just develops a softer surface. The bezel is raised by hand around the stone rather than glued — the traditional way to hold a soft mineral securely. Sizing and how it wears

The band is substantial enough to feel like a real piece without weighing on the hand. Care

• Take it off before washing, swimming or cleaning — malachite is porous and dislikes water and household chemicals.
• Never use an ultrasonic cleaner or a commercial jewellery dip on the stone.
• Wipe the stone with a dry cloth; polish only the silver, keeping the cloth off the malachite.
• Store it separately so harder stones do not scratch it.

Questions

Will my ring look exactly like the photograph?
No, and that is the point. Every cabochon is cut from different rough, so the rings of colour and the balance of light to dark green will be yours alone. The setting and the silver are identical; the stone is not.

How long does it take to reach the US?
Each ring is made or sourced from the artisan after you order, so most orders arrive in about two weeks, with a tracking number emailed when it ships.

Will I be charged customs duties?
No. We ship duties-paid (DDP) from Georgia — import duties are already in the price and nothing further is owed on delivery.
