The case for carrying a wallet on a strap

Most days you are not carrying much — a phone, three cards, a key. A full bag for that is overkill, and a back pocket is an invitation to a pickpocket. This sits flat under a jacket, in front of you where you can see it, and holds exactly that much. It is the standard travel-day answer, and it is why this shape has quietly displaced the bulky crossbody.

Capacity and layout

Card slots plus a main compartment that takes folded notes and a modern phone. Full-size flagship phones are a snug fit rather than a loose one, intentionally — a wallet bag that a phone slides around in stops holding its shape. There is no laptop pocket, no bottle pocket and no organiser panel; the absence of them is the point.

Leather

Genuine leather, cut and stitched by hand. Real leather changes: the surface darkens and takes a shine at the corners and along the strap where it is handled most, and small natural marks in the hide are visible from the start rather than sanded away and printed over. After a year it will not look new, it will look like yours.

Care

Wipe with a dry cloth. Condition it once or twice a year with a leather balm, worked in thinly and buffed — over-conditioning softens leather until it loses structure. If it gets wet, let it dry naturally and away from radiators; never force-dry it. Store it flat rather than crushed under heavier things.

Travellers, market and festival days, anyone who has given up carrying a bag but still needs their phone somewhere. It is an easy gift for a light packer, too, since there is no size to get wrong.

Will my phone fit?
Standard and most large phones fit the main compartment. If you use a thick case with a folio cover, expect it to be tight.

Is the strap adjustable?
Yes — it adjusts for length, so it can be worn crossbody or shortened to the shoulder.

Made or sourced from the artisan after you order, so most orders arrive in about two weeks, with tracking emailed on despatch. Shipping is duties-paid (DDP), so customs and duties are already included in the price.
